Our Adoption From Kazakhstan

A Delay

Well, there is good news and bad. The good news is that there are lots of families adopting children from Kazakhstan right now. Which I hope means that there are fewer children and babies in the orphanages and more with families. The down side of that is that we will have to wait longer for our referral. I talked with one of the workers from our agency and she said that things are moving very slowly right now. We had hoped to travel before Christmas, but that is not looking like it will happen. She anticipates that it will be in the Spring some time. We are very excited and anxious.
We are not sure of the exact steps and timing of things once we get a referral. A lot depends on the age of the baby and how long it takes for us to get our Visa. We are keeping this blog so that everyone we know and care about can keep up with what is going on here and in Kazakhstan. Now that we're on our way with knowing how to do this, we will try to update it at least once per week. While we are in Kazakhstan, I plan to update it every day if I have internet access. If you have any questions, please feel free to post it as a comment. It may help me come up with topics to discuss on the blog when things are slow.

Angie & David,

Can hardly wait to see our fourth grandchild. It seems like such a long time since you started the process (and it has been). By the way, what are HTML tags? Love, Mom

Angie,
Teresa sent me the link to this, I love the idea and will enjoy keeping up with it. I think about you guys and this process a lot. I don't see you enough at church to keep up so this will be great.

Angie & David,
We are all so very excited and happy for you, and we are looking forward to the day when we meet your little bundle for the first time. What a special place the baby will have in our hearts after this long wait. I know it must have seemed an eternity to you all. We will continue to pray for your family.

Angie,

Is it possible to want this baby as much as you do??? I know it's not...but you know what I mean! I practically cry with excitement every time I imagine the phone call from you and David letting us know it's time! You have been such a tower of strength through this whole crazy process, and through everything life has dealt you in the past several years. I don't think there is a single person in this world I admire more - or who is more deserving of the gift of motherhood. You and David are going to be wonderfull parents, and I can't wait to be a witness! We love you both and are praying everyday for the next step in you journey! Plus...Brandon & Kellen REALLY need a cousin!

Love, Lisa
